Check that you have the correct door leaf / blank for the project.

This may seem quite an obvious thing, but not all door leaves are suitable for every application.
For example:
- Check the fire door certificate to determine what configurations it can be used in, i.e. single acting or double acting etc. and whether the can be latched or unlatched doors.
- Check the fire door certificate to determine the maximum dimensions the door has been tested for.
- MDF faced door blanks would not be suitable for areas of high humidity.
- A tubular core (lightweight) fire door leaf may not be suitable for a corridor with high traffic, where the door is continually opened and closed.
- The door core may not suit hidden door closers.
- Are you licensed to process the door/blank specified?
Check your clients specification to ensure the correct door type has been specified for the project before you start machining into it.
Note: You can only process and certify those prime doors or door blanks (assemblies and doorsets) that you have obtained permission for and have been audited by your chosen third-party certifying body. You cannot “mix and match” certifications.
